Kielder Forest was the setting for the Border Counties Rally which was a round of both the MSA Gravel Championship and Scottish Rally Championship. A field of 120 cars set off from Jedburgh to compete on stages throughout the forest complex. The event was won by Barry Johnson is his ex-works Impreza WRC. Paul Bird took second place in the Eddie Stobart backed Ford Focus with Marcus Dodd's Hyundai Accent in third. Alan Dickson (car 15) won the National B event in his Impreza WRC.
