The Matador Tyres sponsored International Welsh Rally took place around the Epynt army ranges. Songasport covered both the National B Tarmac and Historic events. Following an extremely close battle the National B Tarmac rally was won by Eian Pritchard in his Impreza WRC from Peter Lloyd, also in an Impreza. The 6R4 of John Bogie finished third. The Historic event was won by time. James Wozencroft won the 1400's on this first event in the Suzuki Ignis.

2. (104) Jeremy Easson/Den Golding  (Ford Escort RS2000)
3. (111) Stephen Hall/Aggie Foster  (Triumph TR7 V8)
